Hey Buddy! I know it's been a while since I've written. The time just seems to fly by! Easter is this weekend, and I'm so excited for you to hunt Easter eggs! You had a little Easter egg hunt at school yesterday, and you were so cute with the eggs. You found a couple of eggs and you refused to put them in your basket. So all of the other kids were snatching up eggs while you just held onto the two you had! I tried to explain to you that you could put the eggs in the basket and go get more, but you weren't having it! You're just too cute!!!
You have had a traumatic week or so at school. There were a few days where you were coming home with bruises or a scratch, but that seems to have gotten better. I think it's just par for the course with your age. You think you can do a lot more than you really can!!! Then last week someone at school bit you - twice!! Poor little thing, you have the scars to prove it too! I'm just really hoping that you don't learn this behavior because biting is no good!! Once you get a little big older, we'll have this discussion, but right now we can't really have a heart to heart about it!! You'd probably just walk away and start playing with trucks if I tried!
A few weeks ago we took you to Chattanooga to the Tennessee Aquarium. EP and Uncle Jay went with us. You had so much fun looking at all the fish. There were so many and you loved watching them and the turtles swim! They had a butterfly garden too and you saw all kinds of butterflies flying around you! Although not part of the aquarium experience, you also loved the heat/air fan in the room. You would stand in front of it and let the the air blow your hair and you thought that was hilarious!
There was a little bit of excitement on this trip as well. (I'm not sure if I should be putting this in writing, but now that we can all laugh about it, I will). You see, we had adjoining rooms with EP and Uncle Jay so we could talk to each other and hang out all together. Well Sunday morning before we were leaving, we were all piled into their room just talking and munching on some Cheerios. Well you decided to back into our room. The next thing we hear is the adjoining door to our room closing. Now, as you'll learn later in life, adjoining doors only have door handles on one side so random people can't get into your room. So we all kind of look at each other and realize that you're in that room by yourself and we can't open the door. Needless to say, there was a lot of scrambling going on. I tried to reason with you through the door to push in the handle (which you very well could do and had done the whole time) - no luck. Your daddy had his key to the front door so he was going to open the front door to our room and everything would be fine. Well, unfortunately he had pushed the metal lock shut on the door so there was NO getting in to the front door with just a key! That's when the panic started to hit - everyone! EP called the front desk and told them there was a baby locked in one of the rooms. Uncle Jay was pacing (you'll find that's what he does in times of crisis!). I was at the front door keeping you in my sight through the small space that we can get the door open. LUCKILY you and I had been munching on those Cheerios, so I just kept feeding you Cheerios and that seemed to appease you. So as we're all trying to figure out what we're going to do, all of a sudden BAM, your daddy pretends like he's on a episode of COPS and busts the door open with his shoulder! At that point, I didn't care what he did, I was just SOOO happy to have you in my arms! It definitely makes for a good story to tell, but I sure didn't feel like mother of the year by letting that happen!! But you were safe and sound (and daddy really do any damage to the door either - which is good!).
You're starting to babble more, but still nothing I can understand. But you're so smart at knowing what things are and following directions! You know exactly what I'm saying when I talk to you, you just don't talk back. I guess I should be thankful, huh?!?!?
Hopefully I'll be better about keeping you up to date on what's been happening. See you soon! I love you!! Kiss Kiss from Mommy!
